Happiness is...

In the play, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, there is a song that starts out like this...

HAPPINESS IS FINDING A PENCIL.
PIZZA WITH SAUSAGE
TELLING THE TIME.

HAPPINESS IS LEARNING TO WHISTLE.
TYING YOUR SHOE FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME.
HAPPINESS IS PLAYING THE DRUM IN YOUR OWN SCHOOL BAND.
AND HAPPINESS IS WALKING HAND IN HAND.

HAPPINESS IS TWO KINDS OF ICE CREAM.
KNOWING A SECRET.
CLIMBING A TREE.

HAPPINESS IS FIVE DIFFERENT CRAYONS.
CATCHING A FIREFLY.
SETTING HIM FREE.

HAPPINESS IS BEING ALONE EVERY NOW AND THEN.

AND HAPPINESS IS COMING HOME AGAIN.

HAPPINESS IS MORNING AND EVENING,
DAY TIME AND NIGHT TIME TOO.
FOR HAPPINESS IS ANYONE AND ANYTHING AT ALL
THAT'S LOVED BY YOU.

This song makes me smile because it talks about the simple things in life that make Charlie Brown and his friends so happy. Here is my list of what HAPPINESS is...

... my husband and best friend,
a good workout,
a good hair day,
Haagen dazs butter pecan ice cream,
blankets,
cooking, baking, and then eating it,
new recipes,
my Al Clad pans,
my organized kitchen,
getting the mail,
snuggling,
kissing,
hugging,
laughing,
warm sunshine,
windy days,
being teased by Jonathan,
really good friends,
helping others,
being a wife,
homemade wheat bread with butter and jam,
blogging,
painting,
decorating,
dreaming,
journaling,
the gospel,
knowing that Christ is my Savior,
the feeling that I AM OF GREAT WORTH,
Atlas Shrugged - or any good book,
weekends,
paychecks,
solitude when I want it,
Boise,
my new sewing machine,
socks,
hot clothes from the dryer,
the sound of rain,
the internet,
camping,
taking my bra off at the end of the day,
a good stretch,
pilates,
hot baths - especially in jetted tubs,
traveling,
shopping without a time limit,
Starbucks strawberry frappuccino,
watching home videos,
carbs,
warm fires,
pillow talk with Jonner before we go to sleep,
sex,
knowing that I am loved by so many people,
milk,
organization,
Oprah,
a burger from Five Guys,
watermelon in the summer,
water parks,
good health,
growing up,
sleep,
and about a million other things.

When I really contemplate what HAPPINESS is for me and what brings me joy in this life it is easy to think of a lot of wonderfully simple things that make this life worth living. I encourage you to do the same.

Much love & HAPPINESS,
Kristin
